Saturday 7th September Saw Jinrai who I'd seen before at the MoseleyFestival - this time with much better sound quality. Also saw the BeachBums (a Beach Boys) tribute band - unfortunately, as soon as they started playing, the heavens opened and most of the crowd disappeared! The Door at the Rep was showing locally made short films - I particularly liked Time Travel by AlexThompson, which showed speeded up footage of clouds and a townscape. PlasticiensVolants staged a performace of fire and inflatables, featuring a light floating female creature and its encounter with a inflatable spider - I've no idea what the plot was, but it was certainly a spectacular. It was interesting to see the reaction of standard BroadSt punters to the invasion of their space by the eclectic ArtsFest crowd plus 20 meter french inflatables. |
