5th December 2003 Ate at Bistro Lyonnais for the first time in a couple of years. Almost all the diners were 45 or over. Initially, I was a bit wary of our table, whcih seemed to squeezed in, with the two seats at right angles to each other. However, the starters were good (nice leek and potato soup, tasty grilled goats cheese with poached pears). The single vegetarian main course was mushrooms, veg and cheese encased in a aubergine strips, good but a little rich. The Halibut was simply done but very nice. House wine is available in 1/4, 1/2 or 1 litre carafes. Verdict: I'd visit again, but the menu stays the same for months at a time, so there's now a lot of variety. |
