The work of Ian Hamilton Finlay combines both EnvironmentalArt and poetry. I visited his garden, LittleSparta, in Lanarkshire in 2001, and had the honour of meeting him and talking with him briefly.
LittleSparta is amazing, it seems a huge space, full of suprises and hidden objects. Finlay's razor sharp perception of space and human reaction to space is combined with minimalistic words, references to classical culture and individualistic perceptions of naval life.
