Unfortunately The Lime and Chilli House has now closed. A Thai restaurant, SabaiSabai has opened at the same address. 25 Woodbridge Road Moseley Birmingham Tel: 0121 449 4498 Sunday 5th January 2003 This was the first time I had visited the LCH since the chef changed in the summer. It was quite quiet, with only 2 other tables of 2 people each. The service was good and friendly. As starters we had deep fried breaded brie with cranberry jam (nice, but I'd probably have served it as a warm couli if doing it myself), and the olives with citrus and chilli - again, nice, with a large portion, but would have benefited from marinading in the mixture. My main course was described as "pasta with a spicy tomato sauce" - sounds fairly plain, but the sauce was good with olives and a roasted pepper too. All the portions were big, and the waitress also brought us some (free, unrequested) chips/wedges because "the chef is nice and decided to do you some". One of the other diners had the king prawns with lime and chilli which looked fantastic. Overall: Good, I'd eat there again given the chance. |
