Tues 16th April

Saw Misty's Big Adventure with Brute Force at the Academy. For a review, see the Misty's Big Adventure page.

Sun 14th April

Read bits of "The Non-Verbal Dictionary" - http://members.aol.com/nonverbal2/diction1.htm

Rediscovered The Art Of Noise - whose records I bought when the first came out - there's now some excellent remixes available. Couldn't find a source for the phrase Oh to be in England in the summertime, with my love which comes from the song Moments In Love - could be a reference to Browning Oh to be in England, now that April's here - http://www.recmusic.org/lieder/b/browning/england.html

Also heard Laurie Anderson song, Language Is A Virus - for the second time. I've only heard it once before, but the phrase (attributed to William S Burroughs) had stuck.

Last June I went to Java One in San Francisco, where I also visited the San Francisco Museum Of Modern Art (SFMOMA). One installation there particularly struck me. It was a video tour entitled The Telephone Call by the artist Janet Cardiff.

Thurs 11th April

I was wondering about Books Which Every Well Educated Person Should Have Read - haven't managed to get very far yet.

Sat 6th April

Last weekend I missed going to Tokyo Luck Hole at Bar Academy, tonight I found that I could listen to a Tokyo Luck Hole set on the web! It's at: http://www.mouthofgod.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/heresy.htm (click on Radio) or point your Win Amp player directly at http://www.live365.com/play/289893?membername=&session=neilspragg%3A0&pid=&SaneID=62.30.0.2-1018119384335

Fairly eclectic, definately wierd - mixes in some local stuff from Awkaward Records bands I think.

Also downloaded some tracks by local band Mocca from http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/69/mocca.html and found out that mp3.com have a list of downloadable music by bands in Brum - http://golocal.mp3.com/gir?mode=artist&genre_id=0&geo_id=20000567
